This training is a deep dive into the HOPE framework — a strengths-based, trauma-informed model that highlights the foundational experiences that help children grow into healthy, resilient adults. Utilizing the four building blocks of HOPE — Relationships, Environment, Engagement, and Emotional Growth — you will learn how to identify, nurture, and apply these key foundations in your work with children, youth, families, and/or communities.
Participants will explore:
-The purpose, meaning and evidence behind the HOPE framework and how it connects to positive childhood experiences (PCEs).
-How to assess and enhance the four building blocks in real-world settings — creating environments and relationships that foster engagement and emotional growth.
-Practical tools and strategies for embedding HOPE into practice: from program design and policy to daily interactions and support networks.
-Ways to honor equity, cultural relevance, and trauma-informed care while applying the HOPE framework.
-How to measure, communicate, and sustain meaningful gains in resilience and development using HOPE as a guiding lens.
