The W.I.S.H. (We Imagine Stable Housing) Youth Homelessness Demonstration Project is funded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). W.I.S.H. is a collaborative between the Butler County Success Program and Family & Children First Council (FCFC) at the Butler County Educational Service Center. W.I.S.H. is a free service for Butler County youth and young adults ages 14-24 experiencing homelessness or housing instability. The program has two unique components designed to address the specific needs of youth 14-17 and young adults 18-24.
- For youth 14-17 years old, we will work to help connect you to supportive services to prevent homelessness and break down barriers to stable housing. A Housing Navigator will listen to your story and help with a planning process that organizes a supportive team around you. Per Ohio Revise Code, youth under 18 are not able to be housed independently without an adult caretaker, but the W.I.S.H. team can help youth brainstorm about family members or other caring adults in their lives who may provide stable housing.
- For young adults 18-24 years old, the Housing Navigator can connect you to support services. If eligible, a Housing Case Manager will also work to help you find housing and assist with rent payment while growing your self-sufficiency skills.
As of December 2025, the W.I.S.H. program has served 24 young people and 8 have moved into their first apartments!
