A Trauma Responsive Lens: Foundational Training

June 25, 2024 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm
on Zoom

This session will help participants understand trauma, how it affects the brain and body, and how we can join one another on the healing journey. Trauma Responsive Care not only looks at “what happened” to people but also “what did they do to survive.” This is an important shift as we look to uncover the hidden resilience in everyone.

This session will unpack 5 Core Convictions that support building a trauma-responsive lens in order to address people and situations in a trauma-responsive manner. This is an introductory level training for people who have not yet received trauma responsive care training or need a refresher.

OBJECTIVES
1. Participants will understand how complex trauma impacts the brain and body.
2. Participants will understand 5 Core Convictions that support a trauma responsive mindset.
3. Participants will understand the importance of bottom-up regulation.
4. Participants will identify trauma responsive practices that help them be more present with those they support.
